We sit by the shore, he sits with me
I lay my head on his lap as he watches me sleep
With his hand he combs it through my hair
My heart is at peace to know that he’s there

He watches me sleep, as I fall into a dream
Though even when as I wake all I ever do is dream
Of a place that is better, far away from here
From all of the troubles I wish I didn’t bear

It hurts inside because I know it is there
The fear of waking up and again be out there
Out in the world, out without care
Out where there where life always seems unfair

Because I am young and naive, yet I still dare
To take on the world and all that it shares
Whether I am at home, or out and about
I see and feel things I really know nothing about

The fire in my soul is inspired and bright
Yet sometimes I feel I don’t want to be in this fight
When the things around me start to get out of control
When I didn’t even want to be part of that whole

Mess of ideas, problems and issues
No matter how hard I try, In the end I always lose
When in the beginning it was never my fight
Yet I still have the urge to do what feels right

Why do I always feel the need to be
Why do I always let this fear overcome me
That I need to take the problems of my world
That I cant just let it go and and not say a word

Confusing I know, I apologize my bothers
And to The hearts and minds of all of you readers
Emotional I am, crazy, maybe
But maybe to Him this is really just me

I don’t want to carry this weight anymore
At the end of the day I just run out the door
Just drop everything, I don’t care anymore
Just give me the peace that I’m looking for

An embrace is all I ask of serenity
To him I give up all that is me
I lay to rest all that is within me.
So I can finally be at peace as I fall asleep

He watches me sleep,as the water reaches his feet
He watches me sleep as I lay by the beach
Please Lord, let me be at peace
Please Lord be with me as I sleep
